Cherry Bomb
2008.05.18
I was a shy child. I can remember being in kindergarten and receiving my graduating "diploma", and it being a real step for me to go up in front of the class (and their parents) to get it. It wasn’t until junior high I really found myself able to go out on any sort of limb. Even now I find myself contrasting between two extremes. Either I take the part of the boisterous joker, or the abashed, quiet, and quite untalkative one. As I do take photos, and I rather like taking photos, I find myself in need of people to these photos of. One can only take so many photos of himself. This is where the old qualms come into play. I feel people will somehow see some sinister end to the whole thing, and want no part in it. This cautious approach has left me with precious few portraits.
Yet, I really am getting away with myself. These photos are of Carly Moffat, a girl I went to high school with, but never particularly knew. From the societal spring board that is Facebook I found myself in a wall to wall conversation with her. I decided to go for broke, and pop the big question – “would you like to sit for a photo?” This is the end result of a little boldness.

I love them you really captured Carly in these. I was looking through some of your photos and they all look so awesome, keep up the awesome shots Dylan.
